Omar Walks Back Social Media Post

It appears that at the very least Rep. Ilhan Omar is separating herself from her buddy Rep. Rashida Tlaib who went on a rant doubling down on her claim about the hospital in Gaza.

After the Associated Press published Hamas’ claim Israel was responsible for attacking a hospital in Gaza it was like a match to gasoline. Not only did prompt demonstrations around the world the Squad took it and ran with it.

Bombing a hospital is among the gravest of war crimes. The IDF reportedly blowing up one of the few places the injured and wounded can seek medical treatment and shelter during a war is horrific. @POTUS needs to push for an immediate ceasefire to end this slaughter,” she immediately posted on social media.

The IDF immediately denied the claim and about 12 hours later there seemed to be plenty of evidence that the destruction at a Gaza hospital was the result of a rocket from Hamas forces that misfired.

A day later Omar, sort of apologized but then dug herself a hole.

“Our office cited an AP report yesterday that the IDF had hit a Baptist hospital in Gaza. Since then, the IDF denied responsibility and the US intelligence assessment is that this was not done by Israel,” she posted on social media.

She should have stopped there. But…she didn’t.

The congresswoman claimed that “we all have a responsibility to ensure information we are sharing” is credible.

It’s funny though she commented on the incident at the hospital faster than she commented on the massacre on October 7.

But Omar does seem to be separating herself from Rep. Rashida Tlaib who continues to claim Israel attacked the hospital.
