Things were supposed to be festive in New York City it was time to light the Christmas Tree in Rockefeller Center.

Not far from the ceremony, a large group of pro-Palestinian protestors held a large demonstration near the event.

The lighting went off without any issues despite at least a thousand protestors attempting to push their way toward the tree.

However, a line of police and barricades met them, so they could not go any further.

That led to confrontations, and some were arrested.

Below was on of the confrontations and it sure seems like this isn’t just about Israel anymore.

The video was captured by Julio Rosas from Townhall.

Officials in New York have decided that they will close the streets around Rockefeller Center between 11am and 12am every day until after New Year’s.

Protestors did attempt to break through a barricade.
