Former President Donald Trump has reignited the feud with former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) by calling for her and other members of the now-disbanded January 6 Committee to be put behind bars. This development comes as a House GOP report released last week shattered key claims made by the committee, and specifically by Cheney herself.
The report revealed that Trump’s driver on January 6, 2021, had “refuted” accusations that Trump had aggressively tried to redirect the SUV to the U.S. Capitol following his speech and that he attempted to physically harm his head of security. Cheney, who served as vice chairwoman of the January 6 Committee, personally interviewed the driver but failed to include his denial in the committee’s final report.
This revelation has sparked harsh accusations from Trump and his supporters, with the former President using his Truth Social platform to call for Cheney’s arrest. He also highlighted the fact that Cheney had access to all the transcripts and evidence for many months. Yet, she chose to omit important information that could have exonerated Trump.
Cheney, who has been on a crusade to take down Trump and even hinted at a 2024 presidential run to make sure he doesn’t win, responded to Trump’s accusations on Twitter.
She resorted to her usual tactics of dismissing any criticism of her as “lies” and attempted to deflect attention to the ongoing legal cases faced by Trump related to the 2020 election and the January 6 Capitol breach.

But the truth is, the House GOP’s report has now exposed the sham that was the January 6 Committee. The committee’s former chairman, Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS), also came to Cheney’s defense, but his claims fell flat in the face of the evidence presented in the report.
The report clearly states that all the witnesses and evidence point to the fact that Trump did not try to incite violence at the Capitol, rather he wanted to join the peaceful protest.
This is not the first time Cheney has been caught red-handed fabricating accusations against Trump. She has a long track record of being the darling of the mainstream media and the Democratic Party, constantly harping on about Russian collusion and the “Big Lie” of a rigged 2020 election. But the truth is, she has been nothing more than a pawn in their game to bring down Trump and the Republican Party.
As more and more evidence emerges, it is becoming clear that the January 6 Committee was nothing more than a witch hunt against Trump and his supporters.
