During President Joe Biden’s highly anticipated State of the Union address on Thursday night, chaos erupted in the House chamber as a heckler interrupted the president’s remarks. The individual, identified as 51-year-old Steven Nikoui, was quickly removed from the gallery by Capitol Police officers.
Nikoui, whose son, U.S. Marine Kareem Nikoui, was tragically killed in the Kabul airport attack last year, boldly shouted “Abbey Gate!” as President Biden spoke, clearly showing his frustration with the administration’s disastrous handling of the withdrawal from Afghanistan.
While his actions could be seen as disruptive, it’s completely understandable that a grieving father would be seeking answers and holding the president accountable for the death of his son.
The man who shouted and got forcibly removed from #SOTU was Steve Nikoui.

Yet, instead of allowing this man to exercise his First Amendment rights and express his pain and anger, Biden’s Capitol Police rushed in to silence him, arresting him for “crowding, obstructing, or incommoding.”
This is just another example of the left’s blatant disregard for conservatives’ voices and their constant attempts to silence anyone who dares to speak out against their failed policies.

The fact that Nikoui was arrested for disrupting Congress is a clear violation of his constitutional rights. It’s reminiscent of the Democrats’ shameful display during former President Donald Trump’s impeachment when they silenced any opposing viewpoints on the House floor. It’s a blatant double standard and, yet again, proves the left’s blatant hypocrisy.
But let’s not forget the root cause of Nikoui’s outburst – Biden’s gross incompetence. After all, it was Biden’s reckless decision to withdraw troops from Afghanistan that caused the chaos and ultimately resulted in the deaths of 13 U.S. service members, including Nikoui’s son. This was a preventable tragedy that could have been avoided if Biden had not succumbed to his own political pressure and caved to the Taliban’s demands.
And while Biden may have attempted to paint a rosy picture of his first year in office during his State of the Union address, Nikoui’s heckling reminded the American people that this administration has been nothing but a disaster.
Biden has continuously failed the American people, from a failing economy to a disastrous border crisis. His inability to handle even one heckler without resorting to force only further exposes his weakness and inability to lead.
