Hello there, everyone. I hope all of you guys are doing well. Today, I have a rather surprising news story to share. Just this past Wednesday, dozens of supporters of Donald Trump, the former president of the United States, found themselves in an unexpected predicament at his rally in Charlotte, North Carolina.
This rally was Trump’s first public campaign event since President Biden’s exit from the 2024 race and a recent assassination attempt on Trump. After the rally ended, these supporters faced a surprising reality. Their vehicles, which they believed were safely parked, were nowhere to be found. As it turned out, they were all towed away.
From discussions with the drivers, it was revealed that they had been given permission to park their vehicles in the local Dunkin’ Donuts parking lot during the rally. However, Dunkin’ Donuts had a different story, claiming that multiple people were told not to park there due to clearly posted signs prohibiting parking for non-customers.
Tow trucks started showing up during the rally, removing vehicles from the Dunkin’ parking lot. One attendee, Zander DeSoto, shared his frustration, “The managers inside promised that they could park here. Some of the people here even gave money to the people inside.”

Here’s the kicker – the vehicle owners had to pay hundreds of dollars to a towing company just to retrieve their cars. One rally-goer expressed disbelief, “Something very fishy [is] going on here because I’ve never seen anything like this happen before.”
There was even an instance of the Dunkin’ manager being confronted, resulting in the shop’s employees reportedly locking the doors and refusing to interact. A disgruntled individual noted, “They won’t answer our calls, and they won’t even answer at the window.”
One family shared the ordeal of traveling over two hours to attend the rally only to return and find their car gone. Gotcha Towing & Recovery, the company responsible for towing the vehicles, claimed that there was a sign warning that illegally parked cars would be removed.
Adding insult to injury, the only way people could retrieve their vehicles was by paying a hefty $380 towing fee. Both Gotcha Towing & Recovery and Dunkin’ Donuts declined to comment further on the situation.
NEW INFORMATION: We did some digging after complains of people stranded when their cars were towed during the Trump rally. We found documentation about Gotcha Towing having their license suspended for failing to pay their taxes but still operating.
