Amy Klobuchar thought she had a moment. She thought she was setting up one of those viral clips where a Democrat grandstands, looks outraged, and “totally owns” a Republican witness. Instead, she walked straight into Kash Patel’s buzzsaw and got a live demonstration on why bad-faith arguments don’t hold up against someone who actually knows what he’s talking about.
First, she tried to trip him up on some supplement he allegedly promoted that was advertised as helping mitigate COVID-19 vaccine side effects. She came in hot, demanding to know whether Patel had conducted “clinical trials” before recommending it. Patel, with the patience of a man who’s been dealing with these ridiculous smear attempts for years, answered plainly: “I am not a doctor, so no.”
And that should have been the end of it. But no, Klobuchar just had to keep pushing. “You did promote this supplement and told people that it would reverse or mitigate the side effects from the COVID vaccine?” she pressed, hoping to get Patel to say something incriminating.
His response? Another simple truth bomb: “Did I give people an opportunity to make an independent choice for what’s best for their families? Yes.”
Boom. That’s the problem, isn’t it? Democrats like Klobuchar absolutely despise the idea that people should be allowed to make their own choices. In their world, there’s only one approved narrative, and if you dare to question it—even if it’s just presenting people with alternative options—you must be demonized. Never mind the fact that these same Democrats promoted a vaccine with zero long-term safety data while working with Big Tech to censor anyone who even asked basic questions about side effects. Never mind that many of the things labeled “misinformation” in 2021 turned out to be completely true by 2023. No, what really upsets them is that someone like Patel thinks Americans should be trusted to think for themselves.
Realizing that this particular gotcha attempt wasn’t working, Klobuchar switched gears and tried another approach: defending the FBI. She brought up the fact that FBI job applications have tripled, arguing that if the agency was so corrupt, why would people still want to work there?
It was a weak argument, and Patel swatted it away without breaking a sweat. “The American public’s trust in it is at 40%, that’s an all-time low.”
And that’s what actually matters. Sure, plenty of people still want jobs at the FBI—but that doesn’t mean the American people trust the institution. People sign up for all kinds of government jobs regardless of public perception. That doesn’t erase the agency’s corruption, the weaponization of federal law enforcement, or the mountain of scandals that have piled up under its leadership.
But Klobuchar wasn’t done embarrassing herself. She tried one last Hail Mary, accusing Patel of wanting to shut down FBI headquarters and turn it into “a museum of the deep state.” Now, in a normal hearing, a serious senator would focus on, you know, actual policy issues instead of making exaggerated, cartoonish accusations. But this is Klobuchar we’re talking about.
Patel, clearly fed up, asked Chairman Chuck Grassley for extra time to respond. Klobuchar, sensing she was about to get wrecked, immediately started interrupting, demanding that Patel answer her question on her terms.
But he did answer, and it was a mic-drop moment:
“If the best attacks on me are going to be false accusations and grotesque mischaracterizations, the only thing this body is doing is defeating the credibility of the men and women at the FBI. I stood with them here in this country, in every theater of war we have. I was on the ground in service of this nation, and any accusations leveled against me that I would somehow put political bias before the Constitution are grotesquely unfair.”
Also, if you watch below, Klobuchar’s voice cracked, and it was almost as if she was going to cry:
INCREDIBLE! Kash Patel just DISMANTLED Amy Klobuchar’s attacks in an explosive exchange:

And just like that, it was over. Klobuchar went in thinking she could box Patel into a corner, but all she did was give him a platform to expose exactly what’s wrong with the current state of Washington. The Democrats don’t care about facts, truth, or fair hearings. They care about narratives. They care about soundbites. They care about twisting reality to fit their agenda, and when that doesn’t work, they just resort to talking over people.
But Patel didn’t play their game. He came prepared, stuck to the facts, and made Klobuchar look foolish in the process. If she had any self-awareness, she’d be regretting that little stunt right about now. But let’s be real—she’ll probably just move on to her next scripted attack and hope no one remembers how badly this one backfired.
