It’s 2025, and somehow, this is what passes for leadership in the Democratic Party: a sitting congresswoman all but calling for a billionaire business owner to be “taken down” on her birthday—and then feigning shock when people interpret that as, you know, a threat. Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), the media-anointed heir to AOC’s “Talk Loud, Say Nothing” legacy, made waves last week during a cozy little chat with the Tesla Takedown crowd, a group whose name doesn’t exactly scream peaceful disagreement.
“I want Elon taken down,” Crockett said, oh-so-casually, like she was asking for cake and candles. And yes, we’re told she didn’t technically say to attack him. But given the current state of political discourse—and the real-world consequences of inflammatory language—maybe an elected official should consider her words a little more carefully. Especially when, amid this uptick in Tesla-targeted violence, police found actual incendiary devices in a Tesla dealership in Austin. Is it connected? There’s no confirmed link yet, but the timing is, let’s say, not ideal.
The only ponzi I see scheming is @elonmusk he right now is trying to line his pockets with money that should be going to those that need it most ~ Jasmine Crockett
Should Elon sue Crockett for slander like he suing Jamaal Bowman

Attorney General Pam Bondi wasn’t buying Crockett’s tap dance around intent either. In a Sunday appearance on Fox, she laid it out plainly: Crockett’s reckless rhetoric is dangerous, especially in this overheated climate. Bondi didn’t mince words—nor should she. When someone in elected office fans the flames, they shouldn’t act surprised when things catch fire.
Crockett’s response? Classic progressive deflection. Forget about addressing the criticism or taking responsibility. Instead, she launched into a tired monologue about January 6, as though that’s a catch-all justification for everything from crime spikes to gas prices. You’d think the Capitol riot happened last week with how often Democrats use it to paper over their own messes. And now, apparently, it’s the excuse for why it’s okay to cheerlead the downfall of Elon Musk.
Let’s be clear here: Crockett doesn’t have to physically throw a brick through a Tesla showroom window to be part of the problem. When she throws out language like “take him down,” in a climate where Tesla service centers are being vandalized, employees are being harassed, and owners are getting assaulted, it isn’t clever political theater—it’s reckless. If a Republican congressman had said something similar about, say, Mark Zuckerberg or George Soros, the media would’ve had the resignation letter drafted by sundown. But Crockett? She gets a full segment on MSNBC to double down and cast herself as the victim.

And this isn’t happening in a vacuum. We’ve seen the rise of the so-called Tesla Takedown movement, a group that seems to think smashing up property and spray-painting swastikas on Teslas is a legitimate form of protest. These aren’t fringe actors either. They’ve got allies in Congress and cheerleaders in the media. One trans-identifying activist—just the latest in a string of extremist incidents—was arrested after allegedly vandalizing a Tesla service center near Chicago, scrawling “Trump Sold Us” on the walls. Because nothing says grassroots democracy like felonies and graffiti.
Elon Musk’s crime? Trying to reduce government waste and inefficiency through DOGE—the Department of Government Efficiency. For that, he’s become the left’s favorite punching bag. Never mind that he’s one of the most successful innovators of our time. He’s wrongthink incarnate, and for that, he must be “taken down.”
The real kicker is that amid all this, the progressive crowd still thinks they’re the defenders of “norms” and “civility.” But let’s face it—when your side is leaving pipe bombs in showrooms, when your activists are spray-painting threats, and your elected officials are cheerfully talking about taking down political opponents on their birthdays, you’ve long since left the moral high ground behind.

Miss Crockett may think she’s just rallying her base, but the rest of the country is watching—and it’s getting tired of the hypocrisy, the double standards, and the dangerous games being played with our public discourse. You can only hide behind January 6 so many times before people start wondering if maybe, just maybe, you are the one escalating the chaos.
