If you needed one glaring example of Democrats’ lack of financial discipline, look no further than Kamala Harris’s campaign spending spree. With a campaign war chest of over a billion dollars, Harris and her team blew through every cent—and then some—in record time, leaving them a reported $20 million in debt. That’s right: they didn’t just burn through a fortune; they actually went into the red.
In the few months leading up to the election, Harris’s campaign managed to outspend Trump by more than $55 million, while Trump’s campaign kept costs under control, relying on a much smaller staff. He ended up with hundreds fewer employees and still pulled off a decisive win. Meanwhile, Harris’s team apparently treated their budget like a bottomless ATM.
Let’s break down some of the jaw-dropping ways they managed to set money on fire. To start, they reportedly spent six figures to recreate a set in Washington, D.C., just so Harris wouldn’t have to fly out to Los Angeles for an interview on the podcast Call Her Daddy. Ironically, that interview didn’t even pull in a million views. At the same time, Harris skipped an opportunity to appear on Joe Rogan’s show—a podcast that consistently gets massive viewership. But why bother with reach when you’re flush with cash, right?
Then, her campaign spent $15 million on concerts with celebrity performers like Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and Ricky Martin. The goal? To create the illusion of “enthusiasm” among the public. But concert crowds don’t equal voters, as we all saw in the results. Harris also forked over a reported million dollars to Harpo Productions, Oprah Winfrey’s company, for a town hall. Even Oprah’s personal appearance at a rally couldn’t drum up the voter enthusiasm Harris so desperately needed.

She also says reporting that the campaign paid her $1M is false.

According to one exasperated Democratic source, “It takes remarkable incompetence to spend $1 billion in 90 days, lose market share, allow Donald Trump’s election, and end up in debt.” It’s hard to argue with that assessment. The Harris campaign managed to squander an enormous amount of money on superficial optics rather than substantive outreach. This wasn’t about communicating a clear, meaningful message to the American people; it was about flashy stunts and celebrity endorsements.

Even Oprah seemed rattled when a TMZ reporter caught her off guard, asking about her involvement with the campaign’s financial fiasco. She denied being paid directly, but according to the Washington Examiner, her company received that hefty sum. Either way, if Trump was supposedly this great “threat to democracy,” you’d think celebrities would’ve volunteered their services instead of charging big bucks.
For the regular Americans who donated to Harris’s campaign, this must be a rude awakening. As they struggle with inflation, soaring gas prices, and a turbulent economy, they’re finding out their hard-earned dollars went toward things like concert stages and media stunts instead of real policy outreach. So it’s hardly surprising that, in the end, America wasn’t buying what Harris was selling.

This is quite incredible and shocking:

And now, post-defeat, the Harris team is still out there asking for donations, pleading for cash despite a massive loss. It’s a real-life case of “fiscal irresponsibility 101” that perfectly sums up why so many Americans are rejecting the Democratic brand right now.
