Meghan McCain, former co-host of “The View”, has hinted at the possibility of filing a defamation lawsuit against her ex-colleague, Ana Navarro. This comes after Navarro insinuated that McCain had used her family’s name for financial gain.

The daughter of the late U.S. Senator John McCain, McCain responded to Navarro’s comments by stating that she has “never been accused of a crime in [her] life” and would “never and have never ‘influence peddled’ in [her] life”. She went on to say that she is no Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden who has faced allegations of using his family’s name for financial gain.

Navarro made these comments while defending Hunter Biden, claiming that influence peddling is common in Washington. In response, McCain stated that not all politicians’ children are the same and she is no Hunter Biden. She also hinted at potential legal action if Navarro does not issue a retraction, stating, “All accusations are absurd, defamatory and slanderous. I will be consulting my lawyers regarding what was libeled against me on The View this morning.”

McCain also took to Twitter to address the issue, directing her message at ABC, The View’s parent network. In her tweet, she stated that she does not take accusations of criminal behavior lightly, especially as a former employee of ABC News. This indicates that McCain is not only upset with her former colleague but also with the network for allowing such comments to be made.

This is not the first time McCain has faced criticism from her former co-workers. She left the show at the end of 2020 and was replaced by Alyssa Farah, a former Trump White House communications official. It is no secret that McCain and former President Donald Trump did not see eye to eye, making her a target for Trump supporters as well.

For years, McCain has been a vocal critic of Trump and his policies. She has never shied away from expressing her opinions and has received backlash for it. However, for her former colleagues to insinuate that she has engaged in criminal behavior is a serious accusation. McCain, who has a patriotic background, is deeply offended by these allegations.

Understandably, McCain would want to take legal action against Navarro, as she has a reputation to uphold. Being accused of a crime, especially on a national platform, can have serious consequences for one’s personal and professional life. Having worked for ABC News, McCain does not take these accusations lightly and she has every right to seek justice for the harm caused to her reputation.

To compare McCain to Hunter Biden is an unfair comparison. While Hunter Biden has faced numerous allegations of using his family name for financial gain, McCain has never been accused of such behavior. Her father, Senator John McCain, was a respected figure in American politics.
