Hello everyone. Today, we delve into the intense and ongoing investigation following the shocking assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.

It’s been 10 days since that tragic day in Butler, Pennsylvania, where a would-be assassin shot Trump in the ear, killed former fire chief Corey Comperatore, and wounded two others during a rally. As investigators and lawmakers work tirelessly to uncover the security lapses that allowed this to happen, new and revealing details are emerging, including some gripping videos from the scene.

Senator Chuck Grassley shared some crucial bodycam footage on his Twitter/X account this past Tuesday. He appropriately marked the footage as “Sensitive Content,” but you can still check out the link to his tweet, along with the video that’s been shared by other accounts on the platform.

In his tweet, Grassley stated:

“SENSITIVE CONTENT: July 13 Bodycam footage provides more info than Secret Service will share w America We NEED detailed answers ASAP on security failures TRANSPARENCY BRINGS ACCOUNTABILITY Vid obtained from Beaver Co Emergency Services Unit in compliance w congressional requests”

In a follow-up tweet, he added:

“NEW My office has obtained docs from law enforcement on July 13 assassination attempt of Pres Trump I’m writing Secret Service Acting Dir Rowe & DHS Scty Mayorkas AGAIN 2get badly needed answers/clarity”

Grassley’s letter to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe calls for transparency. He’s asking for the Secret Service’s operational security plan and related records for the July 13 event. Grassley’s office has already received some records from local law enforcement, which shed light on the placement of law enforcement posts during the rally. These documents hint at significant security missteps, highlighting the need for detailed records from the Secret Service to understand the full security posture of the event.

Adding another layer to the unfolding drama, Grassley pointed out discrepancies in the security measures. He mentioned that a Secret Service Counter Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) operator was listed for the event, yet reports indicate that the gunman used a drone to survey the site before the attack. This raises serious questions about the drone’s presence and the overall security measures in place.

The bodycam footage Grassley shared provides a chilling glimpse into the moments after the attack. It shows officers from the Beaver County Emergency Services Unit on the roof of the AGR building, conversing with a man who appears to be a federal law enforcement officer. The video captures their discussion about the shooter, identified by a sniper earlier, and a suspicious bike nearby. There’s also talk of two people detained for filming the scene and then running away when shots were fired.

Despite the chaos, what stands out is the calm demeanor of the officers discussing the incident on the roof. This contradicts the initial explanation given by then-Secret Service Director Kim Cheatle, who had suggested the roof was unsecured due to its slope. This excuse quickly fell apart, leading to Cheatle’s resignation, but her departure didn’t resolve the underlying issues.

The investigation is ongoing, and the demand for answers is growing louder. Senator Grassley and others are pressing for transparency and accountability, hoping to prevent such a catastrophic failure from happening again. As we wait for more information, one thing is clear: the need for rigorous security measures and clear communication has never been more critical.

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
