Congressman Responds To Report About State Department Decision

The Biden-Harris State Department is having a full-blown meltdown, and taxpayers are footing the bill.

According to a Free Beacon report, outgoing Secretary of State Antony Blinken thought it was a good use of federal funds to hold in-house therapy sessions—yes, therapy sessions—for employees who just couldn’t handle Vice President Kamala Harris losing to President-elect Donald Trump.

Let that sink in: grown adults working in one of the most critical arms of the federal government needed “stress management techniques” because democracy didn’t go their way. You can’t make this stuff up.

Republican Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) isn’t letting this nonsense slide. In a scathing letter to Blinken, Issa laid bare the absurdity of the situation. He called out the Department for spending taxpayer money to coddle employees “personally devastated by the normal functioning of American democracy.” Devastated? By the results of a free and fair election? If these folks are so fragile, maybe diplomacy isn’t their calling.

Even more shocking, the State Department sent out an agency-wide email promoting a webinar on “effective stress management techniques to navigate these challenging times.” Challenging times? What’s so challenging about peacefully transitioning power to the duly elected president?

Issa rightly pointed out the disturbing implications: if these employees are too emotionally compromised to handle an election, how can they be trusted to execute President Trump’s policies on behalf of the American people?

And let’s talk about the cost. Issa demanded answers on how much money was wasted on these cryfests, how many sessions were held, and whether more are scheduled. Here’s the kicker: not only does this reek of partisan indulgence, but it also raises serious doubts about the willingness of these employees to implement Trump’s agenda.

If they’re so torn up about Harris’ loss, will they even do their jobs? Issa put it bluntly: if foreign service officers can’t handle carrying out the lawful priorities of the Trump administration, they should pack their bags and wait for the next Democrat to take office.

The entire debacle underscores just how out of touch the left has become. The State Department should focus on pressing global issues, not hosting group therapy for sore losers. It’s yet another reminder of why Trump’s win was so critical: to shake up an entrenched bureaucracy that’s more interested in catering to feelings than serving the nation. If these sessions are any indication, the swamp isn’t just deep—it’s emotionally unstable.
