Brittany Mahomes Stands By Statement

Hello everyone. Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, has recently found herself in the middle of a political storm, and it’s all because of a few likes on Instagram. The 28-year-old Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model and former college soccer player has indicated her support for Donald Trump, and, as you might expect, the internet had a lot to say about it.

It all started when Brittany liked a couple of comments on her Instagram that leaned towards supporting Trump. One comment she liked was a straightforward “TRUMP-VANCE 2024” endorsement, while another praised her for standing firm in her opinions despite the backlash. The latter comment, interestingly, was also liked by Kelly Stafford, wife of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford.

But here’s where things get interesting. Both TMZ Sports and the New York Daily News picked up on these likes, and by Wednesday evening, those likes had mysteriously disappeared from Brittany’s account. This isn’t the first time Brittany has hinted at her political leanings. Back on August 13th, she liked one of Trump’s Instagram posts outlining the “2024 GOP platform,” which set off a wave of criticism, especially from fans of Taylor Swift, who’s dating Chiefs star Travis Kelce.

Brittany didn’t stay silent, though. She took to her Instagram story to defend herself, writing, “To be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep-rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood.” She followed up with another post that seemed to address the ongoing controversy, reminding her followers that “you can disagree with someone and still love them.”

“I mean honestly, To be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep-rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood,” she wrote. “There’s no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well.”

In another message on her social media, she posted, “Contrary to the tone of the world today….you can disagree with someone, and still love them. You can have differing views, and still be kind,” she wrote Aug. 26. “Read that again!”

What makes this situation even more intriguing is the silence from her husband, Patrick Mahomes. While Brittany has made her stance more visible, Patrick has stayed neutral, telling Time magazine that he prefers not to influence others’ political choices. He’s donated to the NFL Players Association’s political action committee, which supports both Democrats and Republicans, but he’s never publicly aligned himself with any specific political figure.

Despite the backlash, Brittany’s boldness has earned her some high-profile support. Conservative commentator Candace Owens defended her on an episode of the “Candace” podcast, applauding Brittany for standing her ground. “Brittany Mahomes has an attitude. She doesn’t care… and I am here for it,” Owens said.

Brittany and Patrick’s roots go back to eastern Texas, a region with strong Republican ties, which might shed some light on her political inclinations. The two have been together since their high school days in Whitehouse, Texas—a small town where voting Republican is more the norm than the exception.

As Brittany continues to navigate the public eye, it’s clear that she’s not backing down from expressing her views, even if it means stirring the pot. Whether this will affect her or Patrick’s public image, in the long run, remains to be seen, but one thing’s for sure: Brittany Mahomes isn’t afraid to stand up for what she believes in, regardless of the noise around her.
