Vance Discusses Border During Recent Campaign Stop

Senator JD Vance isn’t mincing words when it comes to Vice President Kamala Harris, and honestly, why should he?

During a campaign stop in North Carolina, Vance unloaded on Harris for the Biden administration’s ongoing failure at the southern border—one of the most glaring and catastrophic missteps of the last three-and-a-half years. And let’s be clear: Harris is supposed to be the “border czar.” You wouldn’t know it from the chaos pouring into the U.S. from Mexico.

Vance’s frustration with Harris is exactly what most Americans have been feeling for years. “How dare you call people racist for wanting to close down that wide-open border,” Vance blasted. And he’s absolutely right. Apparently, in Harris’ world, caring about your country’s borders makes you a bad person, but letting a flood of illegal migrants come through unvetted is just fine. Never mind the skyrocketing numbers of fentanyl deaths directly linked to that border disaster.

“Our message to Kamala Harris is, HOW DARE YOU call people a racist for wanting to close down that wide-open border,” Vance said. “Our message to Kamala Harris is, HOW DARE YOU call the citizens of your own country ‘bad people’ because they don’t want a flood of illegal migration in their country.”

“Kamala Harris, HOW DARE YOU attack the citizens of your own country for not wanting their children to die of fentanyl overdoses,” he continued. “Kamala Harris, HOW DARE YOU call the citizens of your own country ‘bad people.’ YOU’RE A BAD PERSON for causing this border crisis. We are NOT bad people for complaining about it.”

Harris’ strategy seems to involve labeling anyone who disagrees with her as a “racist” or a “bad person,” but Vance turned the tables: “You’re a bad person for causing this border crisis.” It’s a bold claim, but it’s one that resonates because it’s the truth. Americans aren’t “bad people” for not wanting their communities overrun by illegal migration, gang violence, or lethal drugs. They’re simply asking their leaders to, well, lead. But instead, we get a vice president who can’t even be bothered to visit the border unless it’s a politically staged photo op.

And Vance didn’t stop there. He went after Harris for her economic failures too, which have left Americans grappling with higher prices and fewer opportunities. Offering her some advice, Vance cut through Harris’ typical word salad, suggesting she unleash American energy and empower American workers—simple, direct, and effective solutions that somehow seem beyond her grasp.

Harris’ recent television interview with Oprah Winfrey was yet another opportunity for her to demonstrate any semblance of a plan. Instead, what did we get? More of the same vague, incoherent rambling. When asked how she planned to lower prices and help Americans achieve the so-called American Dream, she gave a non-answer about how the dream is “far more elusive” than it used to be. Well, gee, Kamala, whose fault is that? Maybe the people in charge of the country—like, say, you—have something to do with that?

If Harris thinks dodging responsibility and blaming others will win voters over, she’s sorely mistaken. As Vance put it, Americans don’t need lectures—they need leadership. And they’re not getting it from this administration.
