When it rains, it pours. And right now, the storm clouds are practically bursting over Kamala Harris’ sputtering 2024 campaign.
The latest blow? The Teamsters Union, traditionally a surefire supporter of Democratic candidates, decided to sit this one out, declining to endorse the Democrat-appointee candidate in early October. To put it mildly, this move hit like a cold bucket of water. But hey, it didn’t stop there.

No sooner had the Teamsters distanced themselves than the Firefighters Union followed suit. And to make matters even more fascinating, high-profile Democrat-supporter Warren Buffett and two of the loudest voices in left-leaning media, The Los Angeles Times and The Washington Post, chose not to offer their blessing either. If anyone claims they saw this coming, it might be time to ask them for some stock tips.
The story doesn’t stop there, though, and it seems the hits are on autoplay. By Monday, Gannett-owned USA Today decided it wouldn’t back Harris or anyone else either. A spokesperson told Fox News Digital, “While USA TODAY will not endorse for president, local editors at publications across the USA TODAY Network have the discretion to endorse at a state or local level.” So, USA Today is now the latest player in the game to duck for cover, leaving Kamala’s campaign watching its list of endorsements shrink by the hour.
But hold on: is this really about “journalistic integrity,” as these outlets are claiming? USA Today has pointed to a newfound belief in local control, saying, “We believe America’s future is decided locally – one race at a time.” Seems convenient, right? Considering this “ethical decision” came a week before the election, one might wonder if it’s a matter of timing or a serious case of buyer’s remorse.
It raises the question: why is all this “soul-searching” happening now? Why not in 2020? Or 2016? Or, heck, in any year where these unions and media institutions tossed endorsements around like party favors? It’s almost as if the sinking ship of Kamala’s campaign has people fleeing for the exits. Maybe the left’s dream candidate has become too much of a gamble, even for her biggest backers.
And the fallout doesn’t end there. Noted for its consistent support of the Democratic candidate, the Teamsters’ decision is a historic one. Reports show that while members overwhelmingly support Trump, union leadership hesitated to back Kamala, worried about the message it would send. For a candidate who’s been tagged as a “trailblazer,” the union’s choice to remain neutral speaks volumes about the temperature of today’s Democratic base – and where they might be willing to go.
Holy smokes, it’s an epidemic.
First it was the Teamsters, then the Firefighters union.
Then the LA Times, Washington Post, and now USA Today.

One can only speculate what’s going on behind closed doors, but it’s clear that even some of the most loyal corners of Democratic support are seeing Harris’ campaign as a weak horse. Jeff Bezos, owner of The Washington Post, has faced the fallout of his paper’s “non-endorsement” decision, with insiders saying that frustrations are boiling over as the press is now one of America’s least-trusted institutions. Add to this the staff drama at The LA Times, where internal debates over the decision have sparked a fresh wave of infighting.
The media’s credibility is in free fall, and the Harris campaign isn’t far behind. The writing on the wall has shifted – these media giants are realizing that their audiences have had enough, whether it’s with a party that’s failing to resonate or a candidate whose popularity has been in freefall since day one.
The left may be “big mad,” but it seems like even they’re grasping that America’s had enough. The walls, or perhaps “Walz,” are closing in on Kamala’s 2024 dreams, and at this rate, they might just bring the house down altogether.
