Pelosi Comments On Trump After Georgia Rally

In a fiery exchange during a CNN interview on Tuesday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wasted no time defending Vice President Kamala Harris after Jake Tapper brought up former President Donald Trump’s latest comments.

Pelosi immediately went on the defensive, brushing aside the topic like it was beneath her. And what were these comments that got her so riled up? Well, Trump, speaking at a rally in Savannah, Georgia, made a remark that Harris has “bigger cognitive problems” than Joe Biden—a president who has faced his fair share of scrutiny over his mental sharpness. Of course, Pelosi wasn’t about to let Tapper get into that without a fight.

“Why would you even cover that?” Pelosi snapped back at Tapper, clearly irritated that the issue was even being brought up on air. Now, let’s get one thing straight: Trump has been hammering the Biden administration on a host of issues, from the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan to economic mismanagement, but Pelosi chose to focus on this latest jab at Harris, dismissing it as “silliness” and a distraction.

And in true Pelosi fashion, she framed it as an “assault on women” because apparently calling out Harris for her glaringly obvious weaknesses is somehow sexist in her view. That’s right, any criticism of Harris must be part of some broader attack on women. Convenient narrative, isn’t it?

“This is a person who’s not on the level. He is a nominee for president. He is incompetent. Let’s not even talk about the silliness of it all and the weirdness of it all and the assault on women that it is,” she yelled.

Pelosi’s response makes it clear that the Democrats are desperate to shield Harris from criticism at all costs, especially now that Biden has decided to step back from the 2024 race. Harris, despite her low approval ratings and infamous word salads, has suddenly become the Democratic Party’s main player going forward. So naturally, Pelosi has to defend her with everything she’s got, even if it means pretending that legitimate concerns about her fitness for office are just part of some grand misogynistic conspiracy.

And let’s not forget that Trump’s cognitive criticism isn’t just about Harris—it’s been a staple of his attacks on Biden, too. Remember, Biden’s had a long string of gaffes, memory lapses, and moments that leave everyone scratching their heads. But for Pelosi, this isn’t a conversation we should be having. She’d rather sweep these concerns under the rug and label any discussion of cognitive issues as “weirdness” or “incompetence.” The irony is that she’s right about one thing: incompetence is definitely on the table here, but it’s not coming from Trump.

Meanwhile, Harris remains front and center in the Democrats’ plans despite a track record that hardly inspires confidence. Pelosi’s defense of her is less about actual substance and more about keeping up appearances. After all, if voters start questioning Harris’s mental fitness as much as they have Biden’s, the Democrats could be in for a rough ride in 2024. And Pelosi knows it. That’s why she’s going to bat so hard for Harris, hoping the media will follow her lead and ignore the real issues facing the vice president.

People saw through her act and are calling her out on it.
