Video footage has emerged on social media appearing to show Pennsylvania State Representative Kevin Boyle harassing bartenders at a local restaurant. The Democratic politician, who represents part of Philadelphia County, was caught on camera berating and threatening staff at Gaul and Co. Malt House in Rockledge Township.

In the video, Boyle can be heard shouting at the bartenders, saying “I can end this bar by the way. I’ll end this bar.” He continues to taunt the staff, saying “This bar is done. Do you know who I am? The bar is done tomorrow. Do you know who I am? This bar is done!”

According to reports, the incident took place in the early hours of Thursday morning, and law enforcement officials were called to the scene after a 911 call from the bartender. Montgomery County Chief of Police has stated that they are currently investigating the situation and that no charges have been brought against Boyle at this time.

This is not the first time Boyle has made headlines for his behavior. He has been open about his personal struggles and in need of help. In a statement released by the Pennsylvania House Democratic Leadership, they acknowledge the video and express their concern for their colleague’s well-being, stating “Our commitment to delivering mental health services does not stop at the Capitol Steps.”

It is alarming that a state representative, who is elected to represent and serve his constituents, would engage in such unprofessional and aggressive behavior. This raises questions about Boyle’s fitness for office and his ability to make sound decisions on behalf of the people he serves.

The fact that Boyle appears to be under the influence of alcohol in the video further highlights the potential consequences of his actions. As a public figure, he should be held to a higher standard of conduct and lead by example. It is concerning that he would use his position of power to threaten a small business and its employees.

The incident also raises concerns about Boyle’s understanding of his own authority. In the video, he can be heard boasting “Do you know who I am?” This is a worrying display of arrogance and entitlement as if his status as a state representative gives him the power to shut down a business at will.

Boyle’s behavior is not only unacceptable, but it also reflects poorly on the Democratic party. It is ridiculous and sadly not surprising to see a representative of a major political party behaving in such a disgraceful manner. This incident brings into question the integrity and character of not only Boyle but also the politicians he represents.

Boyle’s aggressive and threatening behavior towards bartenders at a local restaurant is not befitting of a state representative and raises serious questions about his fitness for office. Mental health should not be used as an excuse for bad behavior. Our elected officials must act with integrity and uphold the values of the positions they hold.
