Kamala Harris is trying to play in the big leagues, but she’s looking more like a Triple-A prospect who just can’t cut it. With less than a month to go before Election Day, her campaign is scrambling, especially when it comes to Latino voters. Let’s not forget that they’re getting hammered by Donald Trump on handling the economy—a crucial issue for many voters. So what does Harris do? She heads over to a town hall with Univision. Credit where it’s due, she’s showing up, but at this point, it’s way too little, way too late. And boy, was it a rough outing.
Even Politico, which is usually more than happy to give the Democratic team a pat on the back, couldn’t ignore the glaring lack of specifics in her performance. Kamala’s playbook is starting to look pretty familiar: lots of words but very few details. And she just can’t seem to shake the image of being Joe Biden 2.0—only younger and, frankly, not as sharp.
In this latest town hall, Harris went on about establishing an “orderly and humane pathway to earned citizenship for hardworking people.” Sure, sounds nice. But when a 28-year-old hospital worker asked about Dreamers—his former classmates who live every day in fear because of their immigration status—Harris defaulted to the same tired line about how it’s a “very big example of what the price is to pay for a broken immigration system.” Yet, she offered no real plan, no specific policies, just more vague talk about a “path to earn their citizenship.”
This might sound good in theory, but if she’s trying to win over Latino voters, she’s missed the mark. Many of those voters have been shifting their stance, favoring stricter immigration policies, and some even lean toward mass deportations. So, trotting out the same old lines about a pathway to citizenship probably isn’t the winning strategy she thinks it is.
But the real kicker came when she was asked about the so-called July coup that supposedly sidelined Joe Biden. It wasn’t a journalist putting her on the spot—no, it was an undecided voter at that same Univision town hall. He pointed out that Harris had earned her candidacy without the usual primary elections or caucuses and asked her to clarify the situation. Her answer? Well, let’s just say it was another classic Harris word salad. She went on about how Biden made a “courageous” decision to step aside for her, but she didn’t actually address the question head-on. It was as clear as mud.
A voter tells Kamala he has big concerns about her shoving Biden aside and taking his place as the nominee without earning a single vote.

And of course, Harris couldn’t escape questions about the economic squeeze hitting everyday Americans, especially inflation—a sore point for so many under the Biden-Harris administration. A woman in the audience spoke up, sharing her struggles with rising prices, but instead of offering solutions, Harris defaulted to her well-worn line about growing up in a middle-class family. That’s great and all, but it doesn’t exactly pay the bills when groceries are costing more than ever.
Q: “I used to spend $250 a week on food and now it goes up to $350… What are you going to do to help the middle class so that the cost of living does not destroy us?”

And here’s the cherry on top: the supposed future leader of the free world couldn’t even handle a town hall without a teleprompter. Yep, that’s right—the potential president of the United States, standing in front of real voters, needed a script just to answer some basic questions. And when the camera caught the teleprompter in action, it was quickly shut off—like they realized maybe, just maybe, it’s not a great look for a candidate to need cue cards to talk to everyday Americans. It’s almost like the campaign staff was saying, “Quick, cut the feed before people realize she can’t think on her feet!” Because nothing says confidence in your candidate like rushing to hide the fact that she needs a crutch for a casual Q&A session.
She actually has a teleprompter for live questions! 🤣🤣🤣https://t.co/yoYDEE5xZM

Using a teleprompter in a “townhall” is unheard of. Insane how incompetent she is and how imbecilic her staff knows her to be. https://t.co/9aPNW8loJN

This isn’t the first time the vice president has experienced teleprompter mishaps. It’s just so embarrassing.
🚨 WATCH
Kamala’s teleprompter goes down, leaving her sputtering like the town fool.
You can literally see her moment of total panic as she realizes she has to try to speak on her own.

You know things aren’t going well when the teleprompter becomes the star of the show. Harris is being put through the motions in these final weeks, trying to polish up her image before Election Day, but it’s hard to see her pulling off any kind of miracle at this point. The reality is, even with the best scripts and media appearances, she’s still stumbling over the same issues that have plagued her all along. More public appearances are coming, sure—but don’t expect her to suddenly turn things around. If anything, it’s just more chances for voters to watch her fumble the ball.
