Kamala Harris Makes Statement At FEMA HQ

The Biden-Harris administration has been facing a well-deserved backlash over their lackluster response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene. Even some members of the typically Biden-friendly media couldn’t help but raise eyebrows. And it’s not hard to see why.

In true fashion, President Joe Biden was on yet another vacation at his favorite getaway in Rehoboth Beach while the storm-ravaged southeastern states, leaving homes, communities, and, tragically, lives in ruins. Meanwhile, Vice President Kamala Harris was mingling with Hollywood elites and Democratic megadonors at high-profile fundraisers on the West Coast. As the floodwaters rose and power lines toppled, Harris was raising campaign dollars.

Then came Biden’s Sunday gem of a response when asked if the federal government would be sending any additional resources to help those in hard-hit areas like western North Carolina. His reply? A cold, dismissive “No.” As if the situation couldn’t get worse, on Monday, when pressed about why he and Harris weren’t in Washington “commanding this” during the weekend crisis, Biden, clearly irritated, fired back that he had his trusty phone with him and had made some calls. Crisis management, Biden style: phoning it in from the beach.

Not to be outdone, Harris returned from her California glitz and glamour to deliver a robotic, pre-scripted statement at FEMA headquarters, assuring the nation that the administration would assist the impacted states “for as long as it takes.” Never mind the fact that she was nowhere to be found when people needed leadership. Oh, but don’t worry—she assured us all that this was a moment when people were “rising to the occasion,” a curious choice of words considering the Biden-Harris team had jumped ship the moment things got rough.

And as you might expect, there were no questions allowed from the press. The administration’s idea of transparency is apparently reading off a teleprompter and heading straight for the exit. But the insult to our collective intelligence didn’t stop there.

Harris insisted she’d been receiving regular briefings on the unfolding disaster in states like Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina. Really? When, exactly, was that happening? In between cocktail toasts at the donor events? The first sign of her alleged “involvement” didn’t appear until late Sunday night, when her team posted a laughably staged photo showing her looking very serious, supposedly receiving information. Except there was one glaring problem: the headset she was wearing didn’t even seem to be plugged into the phone. And the paper she was “furiously” scribbling on? Completely blank.

This was just the latest example of the orchestrated fakery that surrounds Harris and her team. Everything feels staged, right down to the strategically covered “vice” part of the vice-presidential seal behind her, as if to suggest she’s already preparing to step up. It’s part of a daily effort to rebrand her as some sort of great leader, a role she’s repeatedly failed to live up to.

Much like her ill-fated trip to the southern border, her brief remarks at FEMA were nothing more than a sad attempt to appear in command. But the more Harris shows up in front of the cameras, the more obvious it becomes that she’s far from ready to lead.
