Kamala Gives Address On WH South Lawn

Holy cow, Kamala Harris is already making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Just hours after Joe Biden bowed out of the 2024 presidential race and endorsed her as his successor, Harris managed to embarrass both the Democratic Party and the American people with a painfully awkward public appearance.

Speaking on the White House South Lawn to members of NCAA championship sports teams, Harris’s performance was about as cringe-worthy as expected. In her first public speech since Biden’s exit, she awkwardly asked the crowd to clap for Biden, saying, “Joe Biden’s legacy of accomplishment over the past three years is unmatched in modern history. In one term, he has already…” before stopping mid-sentence to add, “Yes, you may clap.” And then came her trademark laugh—often described by critics as a cackle—which only added to the spectacle.

This begging for applause? Pathetic. It’s not exactly the rousing start Harris needed for her presidential campaign. But then again, public speaking has never been her strong suit.

Harris used the event, which might have doubled as a campaign launch, to eulogize Biden’s presidency. She praised his recovery from illness and listed his achievements, claiming, “In one term, he has already surpassed the legacy of most presidents who have served two terms in office.”

Achievements? Let’s see. Runaway inflation, an invasion of unscreened illegal aliens, a crippled domestic energy sector, crime spikes in major cities, and a level of corruption that makes the Clintons look like amateurs. Quite the legacy, indeed.

She also reminisced about her connection to Biden through his late son Beau, recounting their time together as attorneys general. She highlighted Joe Biden as a father and man, though conveniently glossing over her own controversial record as California’s attorney general, where she extended prisoners’ sentences for cheap labor.

And let’s not forget her catastrophic performance as the border czar. Democrats might be relieved that the old dotard Joe Biden is no longer in the race, but they’re surely nervous about Harris stepping up. Her record is terrible, and her appeal is non-existent.

Meanwhile, you can bet the Trump campaign is already gearing up to face Harris. They were ready to take on Biden, and they’ll be just as ready to take on Harris should she officially become the Democratic candidate.
