A Democratic candidate in Indiana just told voters she plans to fire every Republican in her county. She also said she and her supporters have guns too. This was not a joke or a skit. It happened live on camera during a local forum. The video is now going viral across social media.
Jaime West is running for the Fayette County Council. She gave a confusing and angry answer when asked what unpopular move she would make. She said she would fire all Republicans. She claimed she does not even talk to them. She said she does not like being around them. This is real, not a high school project.
A Slurred Rant at a Local Forum
Local outlets TV3 and the Connersville News Examiner sponsored the interview. West appeared confused from the start. She admitted she had not prepared an opening statement. Her speech sounded slurred and her words were hard to follow. She even made a strange noise that sounded like a loud fart into the microphone.
When asked about her decision, she rambled about her opponents. She said, “I don’t even talk to them…. I don’t like being around ’em,” according to the New York Post. She blamed voters for the presence of ICE in their communities. She claimed they are stealing people’s jobs. She continued, “I mean, y’all did this to us. Y’all voted for us.” You are responsible for this ICE entering our communities and stealing people’s jobs.
She then turned her anger directly at supporters of Donald Trump. She said, “There are good Republicans out there.” According to the New York Post, these MAGAs are simply racist and lack intelligence. She claimed she had been threatened many times. She said the sheriff’s nephew threatened to blow her head off.
Threats Against Law Abiding Citizens
The most shocking part came at the very end of her appearance. The moderator requested a final message directed at the voters. West looked right at the camera and raised her hands. She declared, “We have guns too,” according to the New York Post. This was a direct threat to the community. She is running against Republican Gary Jeener Jr. for the council seat.
Voting takes place on November 3 with the midterm elections. One user on X said, “This is what happens when you’re at happy hour and are reminded you agreed to do an interview about your race,” per the New York Post. The video has been seen millions of times. People are shocked that a candidate would speak this way in public.
This behavior is not what we expect from public servants. A candidate should build bridges, not burn them down. She called half the county racist and stupid. Then she told them she has guns.
