Well, what do you know? Another criminal let loose by Joe Biden is right back behind bars. This time, it’s Willie Frank Peterson, a convicted drug dealer whose sentence was commuted as part of Biden’s last-minute clemency spree.

Peterson, who was sentenced in 2023 for conspiracy to distribute cocaine, was supposed to serve over six years in prison. But thanks to Biden’s soft-on-crime policies, he was back on the streets within months. And now? He’s been arrested again—this time for multiple drug charges, possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and, just to really drive the point home, firearms-related offenses.

You’d think after the endless crime wave plaguing American cities, Democrats would have learned that releasing criminals early doesn’t magically turn them into law-abiding citizens. But Biden, in all his wisdom, commuted Peterson’s sentence as part of what he proudly called “the largest single-day grant of clemency” in U.S. history.

And let’s be clear—this wasn’t just about righting past injustices. Biden was handing out commutations like Oprah giving away cars, with almost 2,500 inmates suddenly getting a second chance that, in many cases, they clearly didn’t deserve. Peterson is just one example of what happens when ideology trumps common sense.

But the story doesn’t end there. Because in typical Biden fashion, even something as simple as signing a pardon has turned into a mess. Enter the autopen scandal. Trump has now raised serious concerns over Biden’s apparent reliance on an autopen—yes, a machine—to sign legally binding documents, including pardons.

In other words, the president of the United States may not have personally approved many of these commutations at all. Even worse, reports from the Oversight Project at The Heritage Foundation suggest that a majority of documents signed during Biden’s administration weren’t actually signed by him at all, but by a mechanical device.

Think about that for a second. The president of the United States is supposed to personally approve pardons and commutations. These are serious legal decisions affecting public safety, the justice system, and even national security. And yet, Biden seems to have taken a hands-off—or rather, a no-hands—approach.

The White House insists there’s nothing to see here, but Trump isn’t buying it. “Joe Biden did not sign them, but, more importantly, he did not know anything about them!” he said in a post on Truth Social. And honestly, is that really a stretch? This is the same man who routinely loses track of what day it is.

To make matters worse, Biden’s autopen apparently greenlit pardons for people involved in the January 6th Select Committee investigation and even General Mark Milley, whom Trump has accused of treason. So now we have unelected bureaucrats—or possibly even activist staffers—controlling who gets a presidential pardon while the president himself is, well, who knows where?

Trump has already called for the courts to step in and determine whether these machine-signed pardons are even valid. And if they’re not? Biden’s administration could be looking at a legal nightmare, not to mention a massive scandal that calls into question his ability to govern at all. But then again, given his record so far, should anyone really be surprised?

Between letting criminals roam free, delegating major decisions to a machine, and pardoning the very people who worked against him, Biden’s presidency is looking less like a serious administration and more like an out-of-control experiment in what happens when you let the inmates run the asylum. And the American people are the ones paying the price.
