AP Ripped Over How They ‘Celebrated’ Independence Day

When I was growing up I was taught to dream, imagine, work hard, and have aspirations. In school, we had books boasting about space exploration and cities of the future. Those same books boasted that America was leading the way in innovation and how great his country is.

Sadly, that seems to be gone.

On July 4th, 2023, the Associated Press celebrated independence by saying that the word “patriot” is problematic.

“The term ‘patriot’ in America has become infused in political rhetoric and school curriculums, with varying meanings, while also being appropriated by white nationalist groups,” the outlet wrote.

“Today, the word and its variants have morphed beyond the original meaning. It has become infused in political rhetoric and school curriculums, with varying definitions, while being appropriated by white nationalist groups,” the article claimed, using data from the far-left Southern Poverty Law Center. “Trying to define what a patriot is depends on who is being asked.”

Keep in mind one of the Southern Poverty Law Center lawyers was arrested with a horde of Antifa members after staging a violent attack in Atlanta, Georgia.

Of course the AP couldn’t resist to bring up the Captitol Riot on 1/6/2021.

From the Dailywire:

Citing the Capitol Riot on January 6th, 2021, Louisiana State University historian Gaines Foster said that extremist groups were beginning to focus on a more revolutionary meaning of the word, saying, “People began to lean less toward a commitment to democracy and more to the notion in the Declaration of Independence that there is a ‘right of revolt,’ and that becomes patriotism.”

Even on July 4, the media couldn’t help but take another whack at tearing the country down.
