He pointed out that eight of these massive Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund grants were handed out, and somehow, an organization that reported only $100 in total revenue was chosen for one of the biggest payouts. No track record, no financial history, no proof of concept—just a politically connected name and a catchy mission statement about “equity.”
Even better, this grant was part of a $20 billion last-minute spending spree by the Biden EPA before President Trump took office. Zeldin called it the “gold bar scheme,” and honestly, he’s not wrong. It’s almost comical—$20 billion was magically parked at an outside financial institution just before the Biden team packed up and left town. And where did it go? Straight into the hands of left-wing nonprofits and activist groups that now get to spend your money however they see fit, with little to no oversight.
Zeldin has promised a full review of where every penny went, and the Democrats are terrified.
