The left-wing media is in full-blown meltdown mode yet again, this time because President Trump actually used the powers granted to him under the Alien Enemies Act to do what a real commander-in-chief does: protect the American people. This time, the pearl-clutching was over the administration’s mass deportation of more than 200 members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua—a violent criminal organization that has been wreaking havoc across the U.S. and beyond.
And, in a move that had the open-borders crowd gasping for air, the administration made sure these thugs weren’t just sent on a round-trip ticket back to Mexico to waltz across the border again. No, they were sent to El Salvador, where they’re being housed at the notorious Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT).
Of course, this was all too much for CNN’s Kasie Hunt, who tried her best to gotcha Trump’s Deputy Chief of Staff, Stephen Miller, during an interview Monday evening. She parroted the usual liberal talking points, claiming Trump was ignoring a court order by deporting the gang members and that his administration would just start ignoring any judicial ruling it didn’t like. Unfortunately for her, she went up against Stephen Miller—someone who actually knows the law—and she got steamrolled.
Miller wasted no time in giving Hunt a much-needed constitutional law lesson, explaining that the Alien Enemies Act was passed by the Founding Fathers precisely so that a president could repel an invasion. And no, this isn’t some new Trump loophole—it’s been on the books since John Adams signed it into law. But since CNN’s legal experts seem to struggle with basic sentence structure, Miller had to spell it out: The law does not require a declared war. It clearly states that if there’s an invasion or predatory incursion, the president has full authority to act.
And just to make it crystal clear, Trump already made an official proclamation declaring Tren de Aragua a foreign terrorist organization committing an invasion at the direction of the Venezuelan regime. That’s the requirement under the law, and Trump followed it to the letter. But Hunt, like so many in the liberal media, doesn’t actually care about legal facts. She cares about spinning a narrative.
Then came the best part: Miller completely shut down Hunt’s nonsense about a district court judge supposedly having the power to block mass deportations. He pointed out the obvious—does a single judge have the authority to direct troop movements overseas? Of course not. The same applies here. A judge can’t micromanage the president’s national security actions under Article 2 of the Constitution. But Hunt, doing her best impression of a DNC press secretary, tried to argue otherwise.
Let’s be clear about what’s happening here: A federal judge, James Boasberg, actually ordered the already-airborne deportation planes to turn around and bring these criminals back into the United States. Let that sink in. A judge tried to force the administration to return violent gang members—including some from MS-13—back into the country after they had already been removed. Thankfully, by the time Boasberg issued his ridiculous order, the planes were outside U.S. airspace, and the administration rightfully ignored him.
Miller, not mincing words, called Boasberg’s order patently unlawful and an assault on democracy itself because that’s exactly what it is. Imagine needing a district judge’s approval for every single deportation of illegal alien criminals. That would mean no border enforcement, no sovereignty, and, ultimately, no country.
And that, of course, is the goal of the left. That’s why they’re losing their minds over this. The media, the activist judges, the open-borders radicals—they don’t actually care that Tren de Aragua is a criminal syndicate responsible for rape, murder, and human trafficking. They care that Trump is proving—yet again—that he has the backbone to enforce immigration laws while they make excuses for lawlessness.

Thankfully, SCOTUS will likely step in and remind these activist judges that the Constitution still means something. But in the meantime, the left will keep screeching while Trump keeps leading. And that’s exactly why he’s back in the White House.
