Talk about cleaning house. Over a dozen officials from Jack Smith’s Trump-targeting DOJ team are officially out of a job, and honestly, who didn’t see this coming? Acting Attorney General James McHenry made the call to terminate these partisan warriors, citing the obvious: anyone who spent their time trying to take down the duly elected president can’t exactly be trusted to “faithfully implement the president’s agenda.” Translation? The swamp is getting drained, one pink slip at a time.
Among the fired are Molly Gaston, J.P. Cooney, Anne McNamara, and Mary Dohrmann—all key players in Jack Smith’s team that spearheaded politically motivated prosecutions against Donald Trump. These were the folks who made careers out of going after Trump and his allies, using the DOJ as their personal playground to pursue what can only be described as thinly veiled political vendettas. Gaston, for instance, worked on prosecuting former Trump advisor Steve Bannon for contempt of Congress. Oh, and let’s not forget her involvement in the early stages of a case against a pro-life activist who dared to stand up for unborn children by blocking access to an abortion clinic. A real champion of impartial justice, right?
BREAKING: Acting Attorney General James McHenry just fired more than a dozen Justice Department officials who assisted former Special Counsel Jack Smith in his political witch hunt targeting Trump over Jan 6th.

And then there’s Jack Smith himself, who conveniently resigned in January just before President Trump returned to office. Smith’s so-called “cases” against Trump—the classified documents case in Florida and the 2020 election case in Washington, D.C.—collapsed faster than a Biden press conference. Both were dismissed after Trump’s election victory, further proving what we all knew from the start: these cases were never about justice; they were about politics.
So let me get this straight, Jack Off Smith was unconstitutionally appointed as a “special counsel” and the whole case was a set up😳. Does anyone in this administration FOLLOW THE CONSTITUTION🤬? pic.twitter.com/L6uuQ2CLCl

The real cherry on top, though, is the letter sent to these dismissed officials. According to NBC News, it didn’t sugarcoat anything. It outright stated the obvious: “You played a significant role in prosecuting President Trump. The proper functioning of government critically depends on the trust superior officials place in their subordinates. Given your significant role in prosecuting the president, I do not believe that the leadership of the department can trust you to assist in implementing the president’s agenda faithfully.” Translation? You came for the king and missed—now pack your things.
The DOJ under Trump is finally acting like a justice department instead of a Democrat super PAC. This isn’t about revenge or retribution; it’s about restoring integrity. If you’re a government official who spent the last several years trying to weaponize the legal system against the sitting president, what business do you have in continuing to serve under his administration? It’s not just a conflict of interest; it’s a glaring question of loyalty and fairness. The DOJ works for the American people, not for political operatives looking to score points with the left.
Predictably, the media and liberal commentators are already melting down, framing this as some sort of “authoritarian purge.” But here’s the reality: these officials made their beds when they chose to abandon objectivity in favor of partisanship. They weren’t just doing their jobs; they were actively undermining the president and the will of the voters who elected him. Why should anyone feel sorry for them now?
This move is exactly what the American people wanted when they voted Trump back into office: a government that works for them, not one consumed by endless witch hunts and political theater. For too long, the DOJ and other agencies have been infiltrated by activists masquerading as impartial public servants. Under Trump’s leadership, that era is finally coming to an end.
So, to the former members of Jack Smith’s team: good luck on your next gig. Maybe MSNBC has some analyst spots open. But as far as the DOJ goes? Don’t let the door hit you on the way out. This is Trump’s America now, and there’s no room for partisans playing prosecutor. The swamp’s days are numbered—and it’s about time.
