CNN’s Van Jones didn’t hold back on Wednesday night, describing how the Democratic Party is “coming apart” at the seams. Jones pointed out the stark contrast between President Joe Biden, who has been “stopped” by COVID-19, and former President Donald Trump, who couldn’t be stopped by a “bullet.”
During the Republican National Convention (RNC) coverage in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the panel discussed the mounting pressure on Biden as more lawmakers urge him to step aside as their party’s 2024 presidential nominee. Jones emphasized how Biden’s positive COVID-19 test on Wednesday created a “terrible day” for Democrats.
“Look, there are a lot of people who want Biden to stay in. I want to just keep pointing out, there’s still grassroots love for Joe Biden, everybody doesn’t agree. But today is a terrible day. If you just — if you pull back and look at this thing, strength versus weakness a bullet couldn‘t stop Trump, a virus just stopped Biden,” Jones said. “You‘ve got the nominees of this party [Republicans] getting their butts kissed. Biden‘s getting his butt kicked by his own party. The Democrats are coming apart. The Republicans are coming together. That‘s what‘s happening. And at some points, this party has to look at the reality of that.”
Trump made a late appearance on Monday at the RNC, just days after surviving an assassination attempt at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Biden was set to speak at the UnidosUS conference in Las Vegas on Wednesday, but UnidosUS President and CEO Janet Murguía said Biden called her to express his “deep disappointment” about not being able to attend.
The hits keep coming for Biden. Reports have surfaced that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer “forcefully” urged Biden in a one-on-one meeting Saturday to step aside, according to ABC News Chief Washington Correspondent Jonathan Karl.
“If you’re vaccinated…you have over a 98% chance of NEVER catching the virus at all…”

Karl said, “As for that meeting in Rehoboth, Delaware, I am told that this was a one-on-one meeting just the Senate Leader and the president. And that Chuck Schumer forcefully made the case that it would be better for Biden, better for the Democratic Party and better for the country if he were to bow out of the race.”
House Majority Leader Hakeem Jeffries also reportedly echoed Schumer’s sentiment to Biden during a meeting on Friday. Jeffries confirmed the meeting but did not disclose details.
Following Biden’s poor debate performance, a growing number of Democratic lawmakers have called for him to step aside. Yet, Biden remains firm on running against Trump, with a White House spokesperson telling the Daily Caller News Foundation that Biden has no intention of changing his course.
Then we have the real crazies…also, notice the mask mandater not wearing one.

Since testing positive for COVID-19, the White House confirmed Biden will be self-isolating at his home in Delaware for the coming days.
