CIF Releases Statement And Clarifies Decision

Oh, California. Just when you think they’ve reached peak delusion, they find a new mountaintop of madness to summit—preferably in heels and a track uniform that doesn’t match their biology.

Welcome to CIF’s brave new world, where the podium is getting pretty crowded, not because more girls are excelling in track and field, but because the governing body has decided the best way to “solve” its transgender athlete problem is to hand out medals like participation trophies at a kindergarten soccer game.

In case you missed it: the California Interscholastic Federation, which governs high school sports in the land of fruits, nuts, and Newsom, just clarified that this weekend’s state championship will feature a new kind of results sheet. One where a trans-identifying biological male — yes, let’s not dance around it — can take the gold, silver, or bronze in girls’ events, while the actual girls he leapfrogged on the scoreboard get their own consolation medals “for fairness.” So much for Title IX.

Let’s break this down. AB Hernandez, a high school boy who identifies as a girl, jumps over 19 feet in the long jump and wipes the floor with the competition. Katie McGuinness, who trained her whole life as a female athlete, comes in second by nearly half a foot — and gets her silver medal like a good sport. But because enough parents and sane people cried foul, CIF decided to hand Katie a gold medal anyway — a do-over of sorts — while still letting Hernandez stand on the podium as the official winner.

This isn’t justice. It’s gaslighting with glitter. The CIF wants to pretend they’re “supporting all athletes” while shoving a knife into the backs of every girl who shows up to compete thinking the field is level. They’re not removing Hernandez from the race. They’re not correcting the real problem — a boy dominating a girls’ event. They’re just telling the girls, “Here, honey, take your medal and smile while he keeps the spotlight.”

And of course, Gavin Newsom called it a “reasonable, respectful way to navigate a complex issue.” Because that’s what politicians do when they’re too gutless to take a stand. Newsom wants credit for having his cake, eating it, and serving it to both sides while ignoring the crumbs falling on every single female athlete’s cleats. The same Newsom who once hinted he was against men in women’s sports, yet hasn’t lifted a finger to stop it. The CIF might as well be a wing of the governor’s PR machine at this point.

Now, if you think this whole circus is raising eyebrows at the federal level, you’re not wrong. Harmeet Dhillon’s office at the DOJ is now investigating CIF for potential Title IX violations. Turns out, discriminating against female athletes in the name of inclusivity isn’t just a cultural faux pas — it may actually be illegal. Who knew?

President Trump, ever the showman, chimed in as well, promising to speak to Newsom “to find out which way he wants to go.” Let’s not hold our breath. If history is any guide, Newsom will go wherever the political winds — and progressive donor class — tell him to. And in California, that means pushing girls off the podium so a boy can smile for the cameras.

So here we are. Girls are now allowed to win… in theory, just as long as they don’t mind standing next to the boy who already beat them. And if you’re still scratching your head and wondering how this became the solution, welcome to the Golden State — where biology is a suggestion, fairness is fluid, and courage is in critically short supply.
