For Joe Biden, navigating the vastly polar spectrum of the Democratic Party has been no easy task, particularly as the radical left continues to loudly criticize his every moderate maneuver.
Biden was goaded into running for office in an effort to snatch up political centrist voters who were growing tired of Donald Trump’s bombastic behavior, thus leaving him somewhat beholden to the moderate demographic. The only issue being that the Democrats’ most vocal proponents are on the far left, making it terribly difficult for Joe Biden to get anything done without angry criticism from the progressive sect of the party demanding that he take it all a step further.
This sentiment came to a head on Monday as the President was taking a victory lap regarding a recent gun control bill being signed into law.
President Joe Biden was interrupted by one of the guests at his gun control speech on Monday who was apparently upset with his failure to do more on the issue.
The protester, wearing a t-shirt that read “We Demand Change,” interrupted Biden as he spoke on the South Lawn of the White House.
As Biden spoke about the “naysayers” who continue to express frustration with the inability to address gun control in the United States, the protester began shouting.
“We have to do more than that,” the protester was heard shouting.
Biden was quick to offer some harsh advice.
“Sit down, you’ll hear what I have to say,” Biden replied when the protester interrupted him. “Let me finish my comment.”
The protester was quickly escorted out of the event after his outburst.
The heckler was later identified as the father of one of the victims of the 2018 Parkland, Florida school shooting that claimed the lives of 17 students.
Video of the incident can be seen below:
