While it certainly does seem as though our nation has gone a little off the deep end lately, there are very few folks out there who would have predicted the latest bit of news from the depths of the infotainment industry.
Long-suffering CNN appears poised to head back toward the political center in the coming months, with new network bigwigs having already canned a number of key hosts in the process.
Meanwhile, Fox News is coming under attack by former President Donald Trump for a lurch to the left in their programming.
Former President Trump on Sunday accused Fox News of pushing a Democratic agenda while offering to help rival network CNN become a “gold mine” by going conservative.
“Wow! Fox News is really pushing the Democrats and the Democrat agenda,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Gets worse every single day. So many Dems interviewed with only softball questions, then Republican counterparts get creamed.”
Then came a shocking claim.
The former president proceeded in Sunday’s post to mention CNN, a rival to Fox that Trump has long described as fake news.
“If ‘low ratings’ CNN ever went conservative, they would be an absolute gold mine, and I would help them do so,” Trump wrote.
The claim certainly is shocking, given just how ugly the relationship between Trump and CNN has been at times.
