Trump Responds to Biden’s ‘Soul of the Nation’ Speech

On Thursday night, President Joe Biden gave a speech that was originally billed as some sort of healing, uniting diatribe about the “soul of the nation”.  But, for many viewers, it was anything but.

Biden made several very direct, inflammatory remarks aimed at “MAGA Republicans” and presumptive 2024 presidential candidate Donald Trump, in which the Commander in Chief suggested that they were a threat to our democracy.  That they “live in the shadow of lies”…whatever that means.

On Friday, former President Trump was ready to respond, and he did not hold back.

“If you look at the words and meaning of the awkward and angry Biden speech tonight, he threatened America, including with the possible use of military force,” Trump wrote on social media. “He must be insane, or suffering from late stage dementia!”

And then:

“Someone should explain to Joe Biden, slowly but passionately, that MAGA means, as powerfully as mere words can get, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” he wrote.

Trump indicated that Biden should embrace the simple philosophy of his political movement.

“If he doesn’t want to Make America Great Again, which through words, action, and thought, he doesn’t, then he certainly should not be representing the United States of America!” he wrote.

Trump has not yet officially announced a potential run in 2024, but he’s given several rather significant hints as to his intentions.

Biden, too, is convinced that he’ll be running for reelection, but there are a great many prominent Democrats who are openly pushing back against that idea.
