There are concerns about the fitness of President Joe Biden which continue to plague the White House. While President Biden is 80 years old, his campaign is taking steps to ensure that he doesn’t slip or trip in view of the public, that could potentially risk his re-election bid.
In particular, Biden has been working with a physical therapist since November 2021 to improve his balance. This includes wearing tennis shoes to avoid slipping and taking the shorter stairs on Air Force One when he travels. Biden’s physician has also diagnosed him with “a combination of significant spinal arthritis” and “mild post-fracture foot arthritis”, and has recommended “proprioceptive maintenance maneuvers” to improve balance.
In other words they have a team of people to keep him from falling in public. One could also say that Biden’s health is so bad he is having trouble walking.
Biden’s doctors have also recommended “proprioceptive maintenance maneuvers” exercises to help with his balance.
The problem is, according to Professor James Gordon, associate dean and chair of the Division of Biokeinesiology and Physical Therapy at the University of Southern California, nobody has ever heard of the term.
“I have never heard the term ‘proprioceptive maintenance maneuvers.’ It is not a clinical term in standard use,” said Professor James Gordon.
The White House swung back hard when they were asked for more details.
White House spokesperson Andrew Bates told Axios: “This isn’t new — it was proactively and transparently disclosed in a 2021 report from the president’s doctor and again this year.”
“This article fits an unfortunate pattern of media attempting to sensationalize something that has long been public, rather than covering the president’s very real achievements for hardworking Americans,” Bates added.
Note they did not answer the question.
As of late Biden has really struggled during official meet and greets as well as making remarks.
