Texas Responds To SCOTUS Ruling

Texas governor Gregg Abbott, a Republican, has been at the forefront of the fight against the Biden administration’s lax immigration policies. He installed the razor wire near the Rio Grande to prevent illegal border crossings, but the Biden administration has claimed that this wire is hindering their ability to reach migrants who have already crossed into the country. Apparently, the administration is more concerned with the comfort of illegal immigrants than the safety and security of our nation.

In a bold move, the Biden administration filed an emergency request with the Supreme Court, arguing that Texas was preventing Border Patrol agents from carrying out their duties. Shockingly, the court sided with the administration on a 5-4 vote, with four conservative justices dissenting. These four wise individuals – Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, and Brett Kavanaugh – recognized the dangerous precedent that this decision sets. It allows the federal government to trample on the rights of states and their ability to protect their borders.

White House spokesperson Jen Psaki has responded to the ruling, accusing Texas of playing political games and making it “harder and more dangerous for frontline personnel to do their jobs.” It seems that the White House is more concerned with political posturing than with actual security. If they were truly committed to addressing our broken immigration system, they would work with Texas instead of against them.

Governor Abbott’s immigration enforcement plan, known as Operation Lone Star, has also drawn the ire of the Biden administration. The plan includes busing thousands of migrants to cities run by Democrat politicians and arresting migrants on trespassing charges. Instead of thanking Texas for their efforts, the Biden administration sued, claiming the state was violating federal law. Of course, this is just another example of the federal government overstepping its bounds and trying to control everything.

But the state of Texas is not backing down. In response to a request from the Biden administration to back off their takeover of a public park at Eagle Pass, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has steadfastly refused. In a bold statement, he declared that the destruction of Texas’s border barriers “will not help enforce the law or keep American citizens safe.” It’s high time that the federal government recognized that states have the right to protect their own citizens, and should be allowed to do so.

Sadly, this is not the first time that the Biden administration has blatantly ignored the rights of states. Earlier this year, they disregarded Texas’s efforts to place buoys in the Rio Grande to prevent crossings, choosing to sue instead. The barrier remains in place while litigation continues, but the Biden administration is determined to let the border remain open. As long as the borders are open, our nation’s national security is at risk.

Even in the face of an ongoing crisis at the border, the Biden administration has refused to take any real action. Their solution? Letting thousands of illegal immigrants into the country, and then busing them to Democrat-held cities to become someone else’s problem. This is not leadership, it’s negligence. Texas has been forced to take matters into its own hands, doing what the federal government refuses to do. But the Supreme Court has now tied their hands, refusing to allow them to protect their own state from the consequences of a broken immigration system.

In the end, this decision is not just about razor wire on the border. It’s about the fundamental rights of states to protect themselves. It’s about the federal government’s duty to enforce immigration laws and protect its citizens. It’s about a president who cares more about appearing compassionate than actually solving the crisis at hand. Once again, the Supreme Court has failed to uphold the values of our country and instead has sided with the misguided policies of the Biden administration. It’s a sad day for America.
