As the nation at large continues to debate just how easy it should be to cast a ballot in America, one steadfast Republican is lashing out at the highest office in the land.

Texas Governor Grega Abbott, in replying to a recent speech by President Joe Biden in which the Commander in Chief suggested that new voting rights laws around the nation were inherently racist, accused the White House of spouting “misinformation”.

“Once again, President Biden ignores the facts,” Abbott said. “The fact is that Texas is passing a law that expands—not reduces—the hours of early voting. That’s more than many states, including President Biden’s home state of Delaware, which has zero hours of early voting.”

He said the law will help prevent mail-in ballot fraud in the state and will “uphold the integrity of our elections and ensure that Texas who do qualify to vote by mail will have the ability to do so.”

And that wasn’t all…

It is clear that the issue of voting rights will be one of the most ferocious political fights that we see in the coming months, and Greg Abbott is surely hoping to get out ahead of it.
