Report Calls Into Question Feinstein’s Abilities

According to multiple media outlets like The Hill and the New York Times, Senator Diane Feinstein expressed some confusion about Vice President Kamala Harris.

The 89-year-old Senator from California has returned to work after having several severe health issues. However, what’s more disturbing is that there have been issues going back at least a year that her office has kept under the rug.

According to the New York Times (that’s for the fact-checkers out there), about a year ago, Vice President Kamala Harris was presiding over the Senate and cast a tie-breaking vote.

“What is she doing here?” Feinstein asked, according to the report. The report cites “a person who witnessed the scene.”

In February, Feinstein announced that she will retire and not run for re-election in 2024.

Since the Senator has returned to work there have been calls for her to resign.

Democrats seem to be divided along with local voters.

“She’s been amazing. She’s done such a great job,” said Julie Dean of Long Beach. But like many, Dean said Feinstein should step down now. “It looks like she is losing her memory at times and I don’t think she is going to be able to represent us well.”

The Democrats have assembled an astonishing group in Washington.

You’ve got Feinstein, Fetterman, and Joe Biden.

Not to mention McConnell who took a serious tumble earlier this year.

I definitely believe with age there is wisdom and people with life experience running things are definitely better than younger (more hot-headed) leaders. However, if the NYT’s report is true there should be a point when a politician hangs up the spurs and retires.

What’s even more disturbing about Feinstein’s question is that Kamala Harris has been in the Senate since 2017 it’s not like she’s a freshman Senator. Additionally, (like her or not) she is the first African American VP which one would imagine people would remember.
