The Democrats sure do love a conspiracy theory, don’t they?
Their latest whopper revolves around the 2020 election, and their belief that Donald Trump is trying to turn himself into some sort of dictator. Their evidence is, of course, fairly flimsy, but a lack evidence or certainty has never stopped the left from pursuing an angle of attack.
As part of this wild tale, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is now trying to convince the nation that the law enforcement officers who will be overseeing voting day at your local polling place are part of the President’s alleged evil plan.
“Don’t pay any attention to what the president is saying because it is all designed to suppress the vote,” Pelosi said at a rare Saturday news conference ahead of a vote on a U.S. Postal Service funding bill.
Pelosi and Democrats have accused Trump of trying to sabotage the November election by delaying the mail and peddling misinformation about mail-in voting.
Now they say Trump is deploying more voter suppression tactics by suggesting he’ll send law enforcement to polling places to monitor the election.
“Why would he do that, except to scare people off?” Pelosi said.
“It’s in their playbook that they’ll have people intimidated to vote by having ICE agents … or other law enforcement there to instill fear in people as they show up,” she said. “…It’s scary but ignore that. It’s a suppress-the-vote tactic.”
This narrative – that Trump is a dictator in the making – is likely being introduced at this time to frighten Americans into voting against the incumbent come November.
This, of course, makes Pelosi and her other tinfoil-hatted DC elites the real fear mongers here.
