When it comes to undue advantages in this life, politicians may be on the top of the heap.  These movers and shakers understand how to grease palms and make problems go away…if the problems even stick in the first place.

And so it stands to reckon that politicians and their kin who cannot escape trouble in such a way are either ineffective politically, or their offenses were simply un-ignorable.

This week, in California, one of the nation’s most well-known significant others found this out the hard way.

Paul Pelosi, House Speaker Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s husband, has been arrested after allegedly driving under the influence late Saturday night.

Paul Pelosi was arrested in Napa County, California at 11:44 p.m. on Saturday night, and was charged with driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher as well as driving under the influence of alcohol.

The arrest was first reported by TMZ.

He was booked into jail at 04:13 a.m. on Sunday, and released at 7:26 a.m. according to Napa County records.

The House Speaker refused to comment on the arrest, suggesting that this was a “private matter”.
