Pandemic is OVER Says Famous Doctor After New Treatment Announced

Over the course of the last two years, a number of wild emotions have overtaken our nation.  This was a troubling time, to say the least, testing the limits of not only our healthcare system, but of our mental health as well.

We’ve been surprised and saddened by the pandemic, oscillating between hopefulness and hopelessness sometimes by the week.

Vaccinations are doing their part to end this pandemic, but haven’t been universally accepted due to the speed with which they were developed, tested, and approved.  Now, a new treatment for the virus is coming in pill form, and it has one doctor suggesting that the pandemic is over.

Appearing on CNBC’s Squawk Box Friday, former FDA commissioner Dr. Scott Gottlieb said that Pfizer’s experimental antiviral pill — which was found, in trials, to cut the risks of hospitalization or death from Covid by 90 percent — will have a dramatic impact.

“I think the bottom line is the end of the end of the pandemic‚ as least as it relates to the United States, is in sight right now — given that we have the tools to combat this disease,” Gottlieb said.

And also:

“I think that this therapeutic and the other innovations that we’ve seen coming to market really mark the end of the pandemic in the United States,” Gottlieb said. “And we need to think how we put that victory sign on the side of the White House, and we declare victory over this pandemic, at least here in the United States.”

The news couldn’t come at a better time, either, as Americans begin to prepare for the holiday season’s gathering with friends and family.
