Mexican officials have decided they wanted to teach people a lesson at America’s southern border near the Tijuana crossing.
The Mexican politicians decided they wanted to teach America a “lesson” about knocking down walls and building bridges. So, they decided to install a piece of the Berlin wall near the border crossing.
To be clear, even the very left-wing publication “The Nation” reports that the Berlin Wall was designed to keep East Germans in not stop the West from invading.
From The Nation:
For all the government (East Germany) rhetoric about stopping evil Westerners from getting in, people immediately understood the barrier’s actual purpose: to keep East Germans from getting out.
The slab of concrete was placed as a record number of migrants continued to flood the southern border. However, there are reports that the flood gates at certain areas of the border wall that were welded open have been shut.
AZ: The floodgates are closed ahead of the end of monsoon season 👀
Sources say Border Patrol requested the gates be closed because of the influx in illegal immigration in the area. 2200+ people crossed into the sector in a single day last week.

“May this be a lesson to build a society that knocks down walls and builds bridges,” a plaque by the base of the Berlin Wall relic reads near the US border says.
Montserrat Caballero, mayor of Tijuana, and Marcelo Ebrard, former Mexican foreign secretary were behind the placement.
After the mid-August ceremony, Caballero posted, according to a translated version of her Instagram post, “We are a government that believes more in building bridges, than walls that are useless.”
It has been reported that Los Angeles-based producer Marco Cline-Marquez helped bring the piece of the wall to Tijuana.
“You draw parallels between the Berlin Wall, a wall that was built to divide not protect, and the wall on our southern border,” he said. “I’m American and Mexican, I don’t call myself Mexican American because I grew up in Mexico even though I was born in the States. I’ve always carried both passports.”
In June 2023, Caballero announced that she is living at an army base for her own safety because of the threats she has received.
She made the decision after police found seven dead bodies stuffed in a pickup truck at a gas station in Tijuanan.
“I have received threats, so I am going to live at the base,” Caballero said.
From the Associated Press:
Caballero did not say who the threats had come from. The Tijuana city government said in a statement the threats were related to her administration’s “strong results in weapons seizures and arrest of violent suspects.”
It is well known that several drug cartels are waging turf battles in Tijuana, across the border from San Diego, California.
Instead of placing a piece of concrete in front of a wall maybe the LA producer could help locals find a way to stop the cartels.
