Republicans that angry over the drama in the House are mobilizing leaking about an ethics probe looking into Congressman Matt Gaetz ethics probe.
In March 2021, it was confirmed that Congressman Gaetz was under investigation after he reported being blackmailed. The charges were dropped but an ethics investigation was launched over some concerning behavior.
The allegations were that – before Gatez was married – showed Congressional members on the House floor texts, videos, and images of his intimate escapades with women he was dating.
There are reports (some credible) that Gatez wanted McCarthy to intervene in the investigation but he refused.
Then Gaetz led the effort to oust McCarthy because of broken promises which has the establishment upset.

As a result, Republican members are going on places like CNN and leaking details about the ethics probe in Gaetz.
Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-Ok) is the first to run to CNN and leak about the probe into Gaetz behavior. He told the news network why Republicans didn’t defend him when the ethics probe was initiated (Conservatives did defend Gaez over the criminal investigation).
“And there’s a reason why no one in the Congress came and defended him: because we had all seen the videos he was showing on the House floor – that all of us had walked away – of the girls that he had slept with,” Mullin told CNN.
“He would brag about how he would crush E.D. medicine and chase it with energy drinks so he could go all night. This was obviously before he got married,” Mullin added.
“All of a sudden he found fame because he opposed the Speaker of the House back in November and he’s always stayed there. And he was never going to leave until he got this last moment of fame…by going after a motion to vacate,” Mullin concluded.
Gaetz is claiming that the ethics investigation launched in 2021 is the work of Republicans trying to smear him.
They are, they want retribution.
What happens next is anyone’s guess but if Gaetz pulls the same stunt he did when McCarthy ran for Speaker (which was great negotiation on Gatez’s part, he held the line and got what he wanted) expect his probe to ramp up because the establishment is mad.
