GLOVES OFF: Petito Family SCORCHES Laundrie Family’s Silence in New Interview

Brian Laundrie is still missing, some 6 weeks after returning home alone after embarking on a cross-country road trip with fiancée Gabby Petito and refusing to assist investigators in searching for the missing woman.

Now that Petito’s body has been found, and her cause of death revealed to be strangulation, tracking down Brian Laundrie alive has become a much higher priority for authorities.

Unfortunately, his parents have been little help in the matter – a fact that has frustrated not only the general public who are seeking justice for Gabby, but also the slain woman’s parents as well.

Petito’s mother, Nichole Schmidt — as well as her father and stepfather, Joseph Petito and Jim Schmidt — joined “60 Minutes Australia” for an interview published over the weekend to discuss the mystery behind their daughter’s disappearance and killing that has captured the world’s attention.

“I think silence speaks volumes,” Schmidt said of Laundrie’s parents in the interview released Sunday. “I believe they know…if not everything, they know most of the information. I would love to just — face to face — ask, ‘Why are you doing this? Just tell me the truth.'”

And that’s not all…

“You’d think there’d be some conversations,” Joseph Petito told “60 Minutes Australia.” “If Brian was staying at my house and Gabby returned to my house without him in his vehicle, I’d be on the phone with [his] parents saying, ‘Listen, we’ve got an issue. … We’ve got some stuff to talk about, like, now.'”

The Laundrie family home in Florida has played host to a number of loud and irate protesters over the course of the last several weeks, all of whom have been demanding that Brian’s parents do more to assist investigators who are both trying to find Brian and attempting to solve the mystery of just what happened to Gabby Petito.
