On the night former President Trump was indicted Fox News displayed a chyron giving Joe Biden a new nickname.
At the time Biden was speaking at the White House about the same time Trump was addressing a crowd in NJ.
The chyrno called Joe Biden a “wannabe dictator” who had his political opponent arrested.
The New York Times and other media outlets lost their minds.
The New York Times’ chief White House correspondent Peter Baker tweeted, “Fox refers to Biden and ‘wannabe dictator,’” and shared a screenshot of the chyron — which read in full, “Wannabe Dictator speaks at the White House after having his political rival arrested.”

The Atlantic’s Tom Nichols tweeted, “Stop asking us about the 787 billion and why we fired Carlson, we’re really on your side, so please buy more pillows.”
David Corn, MSNBC analyst and Mother Jones’ D.C. Bureau chief, added, “Fox fired Carlson but hasn’t changed its business model: peddling far-right propaganda and stoking paranoia to make a profit.”
On the other hand, former Republican congressional candidate and Afghanistan war hero Sean Parnell said, “And they would be correct.”

The following day the New York Times demanded Fox give an explanation.
I wrote Fox News last night asking for comment on it airing an alert last night calling president Biden a “wannabe dictator.” The company just responded with the following statement and zero additional explanation:

The picture below shows how ridiculously rabid the press is. Below is a photo of journalists rushing to be first as Trump left the courthouse.
Cameras capturing the moment we were let out of the courtroom where Former President Donald Trump was arraigned.

The press was so mad…
Since equal treatment comes up so much:@Acosta‘s press credentials were revoked for “being a rude, terrible person,” i.e. being a good journalist.
Fox has chyrons calling Biden “a wannabe dictator” along with desperate, error-ridden content, but maintains access. https://t.co/kg09TkWCDd
