For years, Alex Jones and his Infowars media label had been rather obscure, dabbling in the sort of conspiracy theories that you’d catch an older sibling watching in grainy, 480p after finding an mirrored link at one of the sketchier online forums.
Bohemian Grove, 9/11, the Illuminati – you name it, and Jones was covering it.
But then something peculiar happened, as Donald Trump tapped heavily into Jones’ demographic during the run-up to the 2016 election. This relationship was then galvanized as 2020 approached.
Jones was even part of the hype-machine that Donald Trump used to promote the “Stop the Steal” rally on January 6th; a fact that saw him mentioned during Tuesday’s J6 hearing.
Now, Jones’ ex-wife is practically begging the committee to let her come talk with them, promising “insider information” about her former lover.
“I’m #AlexJones’ ex-wife, & I lost my kids for exposing infowars, even while he was under subsequent Federal Investigation. I have insider info that I believe is relevant to the #January6thCommitteeHearings. Pls share,” Kelly Jones tweeted more than 40 times on Tuesday, alongside previous tweets she has posted.
Her comments came after the panel, during its seventh televised hearing on Tuesday, showed how a tweet from former President Donald Trump calling his supporters to Washington, D.C., on January 6, 2021, was viewed by some as a “call to arms.”
Of course, it’s difficult to take anything that Alex Jones says seriously, at least in a legal sense, after the controversial host argued in court that he is a “performance artist” who isn’t to be considered literal in his pontificating.
