In what can only de described as a conveniently-timed disclosure, the DOJ is now suggesting that there were nuclear secrets in among the documents seized from Mar-a-Lago in August.
It was just yesterday that Donald Trump found himself being granted a special master in the case ; a maneuver that will likely gum up the legal process while also allowing Trump to demand that any documents not explicitly named in the search warrant be excluded form the DOJ’s probe.
But, just one day later, the same DOJ appears to have found a reason to leak some information about what they had already discovered in site.
A document describing a foreign government’s military defenses, including its nuclear capabilities, was found in the FBI’s search last month of former President Donald Trump’s Florida home, the Washington Post reported on Tuesday.
The Post report, which cited people familiar with the matter, did not identify the foreign government discussed in the document, nor did it indicate whether the foreign government was friendly or hostile to the United States.
As of Tuesday night, most lips were sealed.
An FBI spokesperson declined to comment on the report. Trump representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The news had Twitter in a frenzy as liberals began to ramp up their calls for Trump’s arrests, while conservative wondered how Trump might be affected in 2024 by the news.
