DC Court Rules On Trump Civil Case

On January 7, 2021, the nation mourned the tragic death of Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick. Despite the determination by the District of Columbia’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner that Sicknick died of natural causes, the left, led by Joe Biden and the Democrats, along with the mainstream media, have perpetuated the false narrative that Sicknick was killed by MAGA protesters during the J6 “insurrection.”

Recently, Sicknick’s girlfriend, Sandra Garza, filed a lawsuit against President Trump and two others over his death. In her lawsuit, Garza claimed wrongful death, conspiracy to violate civil rights, and negligence per se based on D.C.’s anti-riot law. However, on Tuesday, a federal judge in Washington D.C. threw out three of the five claims, including the claims against President Trump.

Despite this setback, Garza’s attorneys attempted to spin the ruling as a win. They stated that they were pleased to see the lawsuit, which they claim is seeking justice for Sicknick’s death, will continue. They also mentioned their intention to depose President Trump.

Even in the face of this tragedy, the left continues to try and pin Sicknick’s death on President Trump although the D.C. medical examiner’s office determined that he died of natural causes. They have failed to produce any concrete evidence that Trump incited an insurrection. Despite state courts and secretaries of state attempting to block him from the ballot for violating the 14th Amendment, Trump has never been charged or convicted of leading an insurrection.

This lawsuit was nothing more than a desperate attempt to vilify President Trump and hold him responsible for Sicknick’s death. The fact that a federal judge saw through this and threw out three of the five claims is a small victory against the relentless attacks on the former president.

While the ruling may have been a small victory for former President Trump, there is still a long road ahead in the fight against the lies and misinformation. The memory of Officer Brian Sicknick deserves to be honored and respected, and attempts to use his death for political gain should not be tolerated.
