Disney filed its annual SEC report for the year and it shows that boycotts work and that the company is finally coming to a realization.
The company admitted they are at risk because of a “misalignment” between their products and the public that is hurting their bottom line.
“We face risks relating to misalignment with public and consumer tastes and preferences for entertainment, travel, and consumer products, which impact demand for our entertainment offerings and products and the profitability of any of our businesses,” the SEC filing states.
Disney said that their success “depends on our ability to consistently create compelling content.” Claiming that “consumer tastes and preferences that change in often unpredictable ways.”
“Generally, our revenues and profitability are adversely impacted when our entertainment offerings and products, as well as our methods to make our offerings and products available to consumers, do not achieve sufficient consumer acceptance. Further, consumers’ perceptions of our position on matters of public interest, including our efforts to achieve certain of our environmental and social goals, often differ widely and present risks to our reputation and brands,” the filing says.
In a nod to the famous economists Adam Smith Disney said, “the success of our businesses depends on our ability to consistently create compelling content,” and that “Generally, our revenues and profitability are adversely impacted when our entertainment offerings and products, as well as our methods to make our offerings and products available to consumers, do not achieve sufficient consumer acceptance.”
Yup it does and that’s why people are canceling their subscription service, not going to parks, and stopped going to see their movies.
Instead of putting out good content they decided to get into the social engineering.
Look, Disney thought they were too big to fail. They really thought they could push woke content and after the initial wave families would return. Except they didn’t and now one of the greatest American companies is on the risks of destroying itself unless it proves itself and brings those that made them back.
