Blacklash Follows Attack On NFL Fan

One would imagine that after the whole Nicholas Sandman incident, the media would have learned, but they didn’t.

Instead, they keep jerking at the knee, responding emotionally to whatever they see not taking the few hours to do a little research.

On November 27, 2023, the online publication Deadspin posted an article written by sports writer Carron J. Philips. The article demanded that the NFL condemn a young boy who attended a Kansas City Chiefs game.

The boy’s name is Holden Armenta and he wore a Chief’s headdress and painted his face in black and red.

Here’s what Philips wrote about the young boy:

It takes a lot to disrespect two groups of people at once. But on Sunday afternoon in Las Vegas, a Kansas City Chiefs fan found a way to hate Black people and the Native Americans at the same time.

Despite their age, who taught that person that what they were wearing was appropriate?
The answers to all of those questions lead back to the NFL. While it isn’t the league’s responsibility to stop racism and hate from being taught in the home, they are a league that has relentlessly participated in prejudice.
Well, now we’ve learned even more and the boy’s mother is speaking out.
Another video popped up online and Holden’s mother responded stating, “Everyone asked to take a photo with him. He’s Native American – People are ridiculous.”
Later a large KC Chiefs Fan social media group posted about the incident:
During Sundays broadcast Holden Armenta from California a Native that belongs to the Chumash Tribe. His Grandfather is on the Chumash Tribe board up in Santa Ynez. This is his family at Super Bowl LVII. Everyone is making a massive deal out of this and only trying to show one side of his face to push their narrative. Real Kansas City Chiefs Fans Salutes You Holden And Your Family,” the account wrote.
So the media picked on a young boy only to find out the kid is Native American.
Despite all the new information, Deadspin has not retracted the article and Phillips has not apologized. However, Phillips initially doubled down and used some very charged language to defend himself however, he has since deleted that post.
I think it might be time to start a sports blog website that’s just sports news and no woke media spin. Maybe next year.
