The Democratic Party has long been engaged in some cult-like behavior, refusing to accept responsibility for the actions of their members, and often holding their Republican colleagues to a much different set of standards than politicians of their own ilk.
But this week, as President Biden’s classified documents scandal continues to balloon to an improbably enormous problem, even some of the left’s most die-hard Democrats are conceding that the Commander in Chief is in real trouble.
Adam Schiff, the Democrat congressman who served on the House of Representatives’ January 6 panel, on Sunday seemed to concede that President Biden’s handling of classified documents could have put the country at risk, Fox News reports. Appearing on ABC’s This Week, Schiff responded to the question of whether national security had been jeopardized by saying, “I don’t think we can exclude the possibility without knowing more of the facts. We have asked for an assessment in the intelligence community of the Mar-a-Lago documents. I think we ought to get that same assessment of the documents found in the [Penn Biden Center] as well as the home of President Biden.”
And that wasn’t all…
“I’d like to know what these documents were,” Schiff continued. “I’d like to know what the [special counsel’s] assessment is, whether there was any risk of exposure and what the harm would be and whether any mitigation needs to be done. I think that would be appropriate and consistent with what we requested in the case of Mar-a-Lago.”
Schiff went on to suggest that there was a difference between Biden’s scandal and the previous incident involving former President Donald Trump with the Democratic lawmaker suggesting that Biden’s mishaps were “inadvertent”. Of course, the documents did not magically appear at Biden’s properties, and so Schiff’s suggestion appears a bit misguided.
